O UFC 247, which took place this Saturday (8), in Houston, ended recently, but the result of the main fight is already giving people something to talk about. After Jon Jones defend your title against Dominick reyes and remain as light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.) in a unanimous decision, the combat judges have been challenged by part of the specialized press due to the analyzes made after the confrontation.

In the official results, 'Bones' was declared the winner with two judges (Marcos Rosales and Chris Lee) scoring '48-47' for the champion. However, the biggest controversy is due to Joe Solis, who saw the champion triumph over Reyes 49-46.

For many, Solis' exaggeration is seen as unpreparedness, as the fight was intensely contested throughout every round. Such an abrupt difference, then, would not make sense, as Dominick ended up giving Jones one of the most intense and complicated fights of his career.

Some companies specializing in MMA have released their scores and there is no common decision as to who won the main fight of the night. Steven Marroco, from 'MMA Fighting', Phil Murphy, from 'ESPN' and Nick Baldwin from 'theScore' were professionals who agreed with the judges' unanimous decision and all scored a victory for 'Bones' by 48-47.

PUBLICITY:

On the other hand, Keith Shillan of 'Sherdog.com', Danny Segura of 'MMA Junkie' and Tim Burke of 'BloodyElbow.com' considered that Dominick reyes was superior to Jones and suggested a 47-48 triumph.

Ultimate's president, Dana White, even spoke out on the matter and, in an interview with reporter Aaron Bronsteter, stated that those responsible for analyzing the fight, on some occasions, are unprepared to work on an event of such magnitude.

PUBLICITY:

“One of the biggest problems in Texas (USA) is that these guys don't have much experience in fights. Those responsible for choosing judges need to be aware of what they get out of these guys (when they make mistakes),” said White.

According to Marcos Rosales, one of the judges, Jones won three of the five rounds played (2nd, 4th and 5th). Chris Lee also scored three rounds for Jon (3rd, 4th and 5th). Solis, in turn, saw four rounds for the champion, considering that Jones had only lost in the first stage.

At the press conference after the show, Dominick did not hide his frustration and criticized Joe Solis' performance.

PUBLICITY:

“I’ll have to talk to him later”, declared the challenger.

  2. Bastard thief judge, this guy lost his art to the sledgehammer who was also stolen, you're all thiefs like football referees, he's lost the fun of watching this shit manipulated by shameless thieves.

  3. The muppet thought he beat Jones, so how could he not see Reyes win? In my opinion, Reyes did much more than he did. Personally, I couldn't see the champion winning and unfortunately the records are hidden judges who influence too much in well-fought fights.

  4. Were the notes on the spreadsheets transcribed by the same person? Judges are hired, they are paid to work with impartiality and professionalism, shame on UFC

  5. In morals, old GARFO….third fight that Jones loses and the guys give it to him.
Gustafson, Marreta and now Dominic, I think they only beat him if. knockout because on points the guys always give it to him.
