With the injury to José Aldo, the combat between the North American Urijah faber and the Brazilian Renan Barao, valid for the interim bantamweight belt, was promoted as the main attraction of UFC 149, an event that takes place on July 21, in Calgary, Canada. And with the increasing importance of the fight, the atmosphere is starting to heat up between the fighters.
As Barão is on an impressive 28-fight winning streak, Faber made a point of downplaying the UFC's longest winning streak.

“People give Barão a lot of credit for his 28-game winning streak. It's amazing, but which of these 28 guys would I lose to? For none of them. He has never fought against someone like me, so this will be the biggest test of his life”, said Faber, in an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie.
The former WEC champion also compared Renan's game to that of Dominick Cruz, current champion of the category, who was originally his opponent, but due to a knee injury gave the Brazilian the chance to compete for the interim title.
“It’s a completely different fight. Dominick fights to win on points, moving a lot and being unpredictable. Barão tries to end the fight quickly, but he's a little slower and his conditioning isn't that good. I think that will be an advantage for me,” said Faber.
