Fabrício Werdum challenges Alexey Oleynik after the Russian's victory at UFC 246

Brazilian proposes a duel between veterans and suggests competing for who has the best jiu-jitsu on his return to MMA

After confirming that he will be able to return to MMA at the beginning of April, the former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg.), Fabricio Werdum appears to have chosen the opponent for his return to the sport. The Brazilian challenged Alexey Oleyniki after the Russian's good victory over Maurice Greene No. UFC 246, which took place last Saturday (18), in Las Vegas. The proposal was made on his official Twitter account.

Fabrício has not been seen in action since 2018, when he was caught taking a doping test and ended up receiving a harsh two-year suspension from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). The athlete, however, was informed last week that his return to MMA could happen at the beginning of April, after having collaborated with the entity in investigating the case.

At 42 years old, Werdum has already stated that he is not thinking about retirement. According to the gaucho, he still has great goals within the sport and can achieve great things.

On Saturday, in addition to a great career victory, the Russian reached a significant milestone in the sport. The Russian made his 72nd appearance in his professional MMA career. The fighter debuted in the sport in November 1996, more than 23 years ago.
