The multi-time boxing champion, Claressa shields, he may have gained a 'weight teacher', if he confirms his migration into MMA. One of the greatest athletes in the history of sport, Chris Cyborg, offered to help the American in her transition to mixed martial arts. “If I am able to help her, if I have the opportunity, I will definitely do it.” I think we need to see how quickly she learns things. If we train together, how she trains, how quickly she learns. But young people learn very quickly. She can use her boxing, which is great. She just needs a few details, learning jiu-jitsu and wrestling,” said Cris.
Last year, Claressa surprised many martial arts fans by stating that she wanted to take a risk in MMA and also made a point of declaring that she would like to face Amanda nunes in a fight promoted by the UFC. Cyborg, who already trained with Shields in 2017 and 2018, however, advised the American to take it easy about the Pojucana challenge.
“If it were my athlete, I would do some MMA fights first. I think that with everything, it can be great. And people will love her too”, said the Curitiba native.
With Amanda's success in bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) and featherweight (up to 65,7kg), Ultimate welcomes the chance to hold superfights so that the Bahian can increase her success, in addition to promoting the organization profitable shows.
Nunes, however, stated after her victory in the UFC 245, in December, who agrees to face Claressa only under MMA rules. The North American, then, should accept a fight inside the octagon and not wait for the Brazilian to agree to have a boxing duel.
