Coach guarantees McGregor has sharp jiu-jitsu for fight against Cerrone

“Conor (McGregor) is always prepared, man. He's been one of the best jiu-jitsu guys I've worked with. His jiu-jitsu is on another level and always has been,” said Danis.

When he acts standing up, exchanging punches and kicks, there is no need to question Conor's quality. However, the Irishman's record of defeats shows that the athlete finds it difficult to stand out when faced with an opponent who specializes in ground fighting.

Against Donald, who is an athlete known for his qualities in Wrestling and the 'gentle art', McGregor may have to prove an evolution and show that the flaws in his defeats, when he was submitted, have, in fact, been fixed.

To reinforce confidence in the former featherweight (up to 65,7kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3kg) champion, Dillon stated that, next Saturday, his pupil will have the opportunity to show that he is a complete athlete and is prepared for any opponent.

“People look down on him for some reason, but if he goes down, everyone will see it. They will be able to see how good he (Conor) is”, he concluded.

In 21 victories as a professional in MMA, McGregor emerged victorious via submission on just one occasion, in 2012, more than seven years ago.

Cerrone, in turn, has 37 triumphs and has 17 achievements using the 'gentle art' since his debut in mixed martial arts.
