The president of Ultimate, Dana White, went public to refute several criticisms regarding the choice of Donald Cerrone as an athlete responsible for ‘welcoming’ Conor McGregor to the octagon. With a fight scheduled for January 18th, at UFC 246, part of the public considers that the North American, who is coming off two consecutive defeats, will not pose any imminent danger to the Irishman, even suggesting an 'arranged' fight. In an interview with ‘ESPN’, the president showed his indignation.

For White, the meeting between the Irish and the North American makes a lot of sense, not just thinking about the numbers. According to the 'boss', this is a fight that respects the division's ranking, as the duel between the fourth (Conor) and fifth (Donald) in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3kg) will be presented to the public. .
“It’s really s**t to say that someone is disappointed with Conor against Cerrone. Pure nonsense. If you look at this fight marriage, Conor lost his last fight, as did Cerrone. There are two top 5 guys exchanging forces. Don’t listen to this nonsense”, concluded the president.
McGregor and Cerrone will be responsible for starring in the first Ultimate show of the year. Even without a title fight, the athletes will fight in the main fight of a numbered event, which takes place in Las Vegas (USA).
