with the return of Conor McGregor to MMA after more than a year away from the octagon, rumors about a future rematch against his biggest rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, they started 'bubbling' again. Although it was one of the most watched fights in the history of MMA, the manager of the lightweight champion (under 70,3kg), Ali Abdelaziz, minimized the chance of re-editing the confrontation between his client and the 'Notório'. In an interview with 'TMZ Sports', Ali spoke about the subject.

“Look, Dana (White) is the greatest promoter in history. I respect him a lot. He has to make people care about Conor (McGregor) and by speaking Khabib's (Nurmagomedov) name, he's making Conor relevant. Everything is fine. He can promote whatever he wants,” said Abdelaziz.
The businessman, however, confirmed that the Irishman is not in his client's future plans. For Ali, there are other athletes in a position to give the public a greater spectacle and challenge to the current lightweight champion.
“Khabib has a plan, Dana has a plan. At times, we will get upset, at others, we will agree. Business continues, but Conor is not on our radar. He could lose to 'Cowboy' (Donald Cerrone) and, as far as I know, I think he could lose”, he said.
For Abdelaziz, the lightweight division has big names who are ahead of the 'Notório' for a future clash against the Russian for the title.
“What do you think of guys like Justin gaethje? He has beaten and knocked out his opponents. He is the next challenger. He's number three. Then there is the Dustin poirier, as number two”, he stated.
As McGregor prepares for the first Ultimate event of the year, when he faces Donald Cerrone in the main fight of UFC 246, Nurmagomedov is in training for one of the most anticipated clashes in recent MMA history. The 'Eagle' must face Tony Ferguson in April in another belt defense.
