It didn't work for the Brazilian Patricky Pitbull. The native of Rio Grande do Norte, who took to the ring at Rizin, this Tuesday morning (Brasília time), to compete in the lightweight GP, lost the grand final to Azerbaijani Tofiq Musaev in a unanimous decision by the judges. The show took place in the city of Saitama, Japan.

Before the big decision, Patricky ran over his compatriot Luiz Gustavo Santos and knocked out his rival in just 28 seconds with a goal kick (click here to see the video). On the other hand, Musaev also advanced quickly to the final, when he also knocked out Johnny Case, in less than three minutes.
In the big decision, Musaev managed to balance his strengths in the stand-up fight against the Brazilian. However, Tofiq was capable of changing levels and stopping the fight on the ground. In one of the attacks, Patricky fell from the ring. But he recovered well. Despite this, the victory and the lightweight GP belt went to the Azerbaijani athlete.
“Today is a very special day, it is the president’s birthday. To the Japanese fans, thank you for everything,” said Musaev still in the ring at Saitma Super Arena.
John Macapá also loses
The other Brazilian representative on the Rizin 20 card, John Macapá also did not have a good result on the last day of the year. The Amapá native was beaten by Mikuru Asakura in the unanimous decision of the judges.
