Tyron Woodley accepts challenge from Leon Edwards: 'Now you're screwed'

the american Tyron woodley is willing to regain his position as welterweight champion (up to 77kg.). Without fighting since he was dethroned by Kamaru Usman, in March 2019, the athlete agreed to face the dangerous Leon edwards, for a chance to challenge the current champion. On his official Instagram account, the fighter made the statement and suggested the date and location.

"Merry Christmas, Leon edwards. Be careful what you ask for. Now, you're screwed. UFC, send me that luxury poster so I can publish it”, wrote the North American.

With the statement, Woodley makes it clear that he agrees to go to his rival's home country and asks them to hold the main fight on the card. If Ultimate is interested in carrying out the battle, the meeting between the combatants could emerge as the next challenger to Usman's reign, who he recently defeated Colby covington in one of the most anticipated clashes of the year.

Some factors can make the fight difficult, given that, after winning in the UFC 245, Kamaru stated that the next on the list could be Edwards, as a result of his great recent record in MMA.

On the other hand, UFC president Dana White said he would like to see a clash between Colby and Tyron.

It remains, then, to wait for the board's position to decide the paths for the division, which also features Masvidal, one of the biggest stars in the 2019 category.
