“Maybe in the future. Before my fight against Valentina Shevchenko, I didn't have much time to prepare for a fight in a different category. I only had six weeks (one month and 14 days) to prepare and face one of the best fighters in the world,” said Joanna.

Before thinking about the future in the division currently dominated by Valentina, Jędrzejczyk has one of the most important commitments of his career at the beginning of 2020. In March, at least UFC 248, the Pole will have the chance to try to regain her strawweight belt, lost in 2017, when she was defeated by Rose namajunas.

Today, the belt is no longer in the North American’s possession. Number one in the category is Weili Zhang, who won the title after defeating the Brazilian Jessica Andrade in the main fight of UFC Shenzhen, which took place in August 2019.

Against Zhang, Joanna must prove that she is still capable of holding the organization's belt and restoring her name among the most important in the history of the sport.
