When negotiating the clash between the candidates for 'kings' of the division, Ultimate ended up meeting in the Brazilian Deiveson Figueiredo e Joseph Benavidez two rivals in great phase within the company. The 'God of War', as the man from Pará is known, has been waiting for an opportunity to fight for the belt since his debut for the company in 2017.

With seven fights for the UFC and just one setback, it didn't take long for Figueiredo to emerge as a potential promise in the category.

With the status of a champion, Benavidez already has a title fight on his resume as an Ultimate athlete. The fighter ended up, in 2013, becoming another of the victims of the former title holder, Demetrious Johnson. On that occasion, the North American ended up being defeated by his compatriot by knockout in the first round.

Almost seven years have passed and, now, 10 fights later, Joseph will have the opportunity to show that he has evolved and can, in fact, sport a UFC belt.
