The decision of the fight between José Aldo e Marlon moraes No. UFC 245, held last Saturday (14), is still causing people to talk. After the decision of the judges who declared the Friburgo native as the winner, by majority, several questions began to arise about who really triumphed in one of the most even fights of the night. Moraes took advantage of the wave of provocations and joked with his compatriot due to his complaints after the fight. In an interview with 'Combate', Marlon spoke about the subject.
“I really admire that (José) Aldo, who is a Flamengo fan, is 'crying'? This is a Botafogo fans thing. That’s what I think and that’s my opinion”, said the Friborg native.
The former title challenger's speech was taken to the context of football, a sport in which the two are declared passionate about Flamengo.
In a press conference, moments after the UFC 245, Marlon tried to offer a rematch to his compatriot for a rematch next year. The idea was to promote the re-editing of the duel and, thus, eliminate any doubts about who won the dispute.
“I'm a professional, I've already lost a fight that I thought I'd won, which was my debut in the UFC, against Raphael Assunção. I thought I hadn't lost, a lot of people agreed with me, 99% of the specialized media saying I won. But, as I was in the role I lost, I decided to work and train to fight him again”, said Moraes, who won the new fight against Assunção in February this year, at UFC Fortaleza.
For Aldo, however, the rematch proposal suggested by the former challenger represents the affirmation that the Friborg native does not believe in his own triumph. After the man from Manaus was considered the winner by Cejudo and Dana White, contrary to the judges, the 'People's Champion' then seemed to ignore the setback for Marlon and began to start teasing the North American.
