Glover suggests fighting Anthony at UFC Brasilia, but American rejects: 'No chance'

The miner promptly accepted the proposal and suggested that the clash be held at UFC Brasilia, which takes place on March 14th. The Brazilian's suggestion, however, did not please Anthony, who ruled out a clash on Brazilian territory. The statement was made in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

“There’s no chance of me going to Brazil,” said Smith.

According to the American, he is already favoring Glover by proposing a fight. Anthony claims that it is the only chance for the Brazilian to be able to star in an Ultimate event, at least at the moment.

“I'm probably the only guy who will give him a main fight, because any other fight he accepts will be just another fight on a card. So, if he wants to face me, I think it's fair that we do it in the United States”, declared Smith, who also added. I'll be honest with you, if it's in Brazil, he has an advantage over me”, he concluded.

Anthony's challenge to Teixeira comes at a special moment in the Brazilian's career. In good form, coming off two consecutive victories, Glover currently sits in ninth place in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg). Smith, who holds third position, could be the passport needed for the Minas Gerais native to return to the group of the top five in the category dominated by Jon Jones.
