the decision of José Aldo in migrating to the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg.) has divided opinions behind the scenes of MMA. There are those who believe that the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) will do well in his debut, which takes place this Saturday (14), but there are critics who question whether the Brazilian will be able to reach the weight limit of category. One of those who are against changing the 'People's Champion' is an old acquaintance of José. Urijah faber, in an interview with 'MMA Junkie', showed concern about Aldo's health for his commitment UFC 245.

“(José) Aldo, in my opinion, is one of the best fighters in the history of this sport. Seeing him make weight cuts, I know he's mentally tough to do that. But I don’t know if that’s going to be the best thing for his body,” Faber said.

The athlete used a personal example to try to promote his idea that Manauara should have remained in his division. For Urijah, José may have lowered his weight too soon, which could harm his performance against Marlon moraes, his rival this weekend.

“I remember the first time I weighed 61,2kg. I started losing weight before because I was nervous about what it would be like. I was getting too small, too soon. I think he will do the same thing. I don’t think it will be good for him”, confessed the American.

Even contrary to Manauara's decision, the 'California Boy', who has a confessed relationship of admiration for the Brazilian, hopes to see the athlete performing in his best physical shape in one of the fights of the UFC 245.

“I hope he is able to perform like the Aldo we all know. Only time will tell what will happen”, concluded the fighter.

Aldo and Faber came to face each other in 2010, when they represented the now-defunct WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting. At the time, the Brazilian was defending his featherweight title and achieved a memorable victory over the North American in a fight in which Urijah had his leg ' undermined' with Manauara's powerful kicks.
