The main fight of UFC 246, on January 18, which marks the meeting between Conor McGregor e Donald Cerrone has already begun to gather its followers. Although he doesn't have a belt in dispute, the confirmation of the duel has already filled the eyes of one of the most relevant athletes in Ultimate today. Second Tony Ferguson, the dispute between the North American and the Irishman has everything to be a success and, in an interview with 'The Ariel Helwani's MMA Show', he gave his predictions for the fight.

“I have to say that if Cerrone kicks his rival in the ribs, McGregor will fall like a ton of bricks. But I will always say that I bet on a double knockout. They're going to get in there (in the Octagon) with a lot of desire. It's going to be a good fight. I can’t wait to watch it,” said Tony.

In the confrontation between the United States and Ireland, Ferguson has the right to talk about one of the protagonists of the event that will take place in Las Vegas (USA). Tony made his return to the octagon in a duel against Cerrone in one of the fights of the UFC 238, in June. On that occasion, the two athletes gave the public an extremely violent fight, which culminated in the defeat of 'Cowboy' by technical knockout after a medical interruption.

Tony and McGregor's paths, although they were close at one point, never crossed. The American even declared, a few months ago, that he could face the Irishman in the future, but now would not be the time, as Conor hasn't fought since October last year and is coming off a defeat.

The victory over Donald gave 'El Cucuy' the opportunity to challenge Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.). The combatants must compete in the main fight of the one who must represent the UFC 249, on April 18.

The fight between McGregor and Cerrone, however, will not be held in the category dominated by the Russian. The athletes, by mutual agreement, chose to move up a division and fight in the welterweight division (up to 77kg).

While Conor seeks to regain the path of victories and the prestige he once had with Ultimante, Cerrone tries to forget his last two performances, when he was defeated by Ferguson and, in September, when he was severely beaten by Justin gaethje.
