After the announcement of the return of Conor McGregor to the octagon on January 18, against Donald Cerrone, fur UFC 246, many athletes will have to offer to compete for a place on the card, which should attract many spectators. His first was Darren till, which suggested a clash against Robert whittaker, former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.), in the co-main fight of the event. The challenge was made on his official 'Twitter' account.

Newly arrived in the middleweight division, Darren started his journey towards the title on the right foot. In his first challenge, the Englishman had the role of beating one of the most dangerous athletes in the division, Kelvin Gastelum. On that occasion, the Englishman won over the North American in the judges' decision. The result placed Till in fourth place in the ranking and in a position to dream of reaching the top of the category.
After beating Kelvin, Darren began his search for his next challenge. The chosen one was the former division champion, Robert whittaker, who was recently dethroned by Israel adesanya. The Australian, in turn, did not shy away from the invitation. It didn't take long for Whittaker to accept the challenge.
Even with the two athletes' intention to exchange forces, the Ultimate management has not yet expressed their desire to hold a meeting between the two competitors. However, while Robert needs a big fight to get back on the winning track and, consequently, try to regain his belt, Darren keeps his dream of winning a UFC belt alive.
The Englishman had an opportunity to become number one when he was at welterweight. On that occasion, Till faced the then champion, Yoel romero. In the clash, Darren ended up succumbing to the North American's talent and was defeated by submission in the second round.
So far, the UFC 246 has six fights scheduled, including a fight between Anthony Pettis, who returns to lightweight, against Brazilian Diego Ferreira.
