Jon Jones defends belt against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247

The undefeated Dominick Reys will be the next challenger for Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight belt. The fight will be the main attraction of the UFC 247, an event that takes place on February 8th, in Houston (USA). The information was initially released on the website BJPenn.com and confirmed by several US vehicles.

Jones had announced, through his Twitter account, last Friday (22), his return to the Octagon for February 2020. The website, however, confirmed the date and the champion's rival.

Jon Jones, number one in the UFC's weight-for-weight rankings (which encompasses all categories), has a professional record of 25 wins and just one loss. The North American, who had his title stripped in September 2017, due to doping problems in the US Courts, regained the belt at UFC 232, in December 2018, when he defeated Alexander Gustafson. Since then, 'Bones', as he is known, has defended his reign against Anthony Smith at UFC 235, in March, and Thiago Marreta, in the divided decision of the judges, in the UFC 239, in July.

In turn, Reys has a record of 12 fights and 12 wins, six of which in Ultimate. The North American, fourth in the light heavyweight rankings, defeated the former middleweight champion, Chris Weidman, in his last performance, at the ufc boston, in October.
