the polish Jan Blachowicz went through a real trial by fire last Saturday (16), for UFC Sao Paulo, when he faced Ronaldo Jacare in the Brazilian's debut in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg.). After an emotionless fight, Jan ended up winning in the majority decision of the judges and, in a press conference after the show, with the presence of SUPER FIGHTS, stated that he will await the winner of the fight between Jon Jones e Dominick reyes to ask for a title fight.

“I will wait for Dominick reyes ou Jon Jones. No problem. I'll wait for either of them for the UFC to let them fight me,” said Blachowicz.

By agreeing to face Jacaré, the Pole ended up taking a big risk. In sixth place in the rankings and on the front line for a title fight, facing a high-level opponent, who was changing categories and was not even ranked, could be fatal to the athlete's career. If he were defeated, Jan could give way to the Brazilian and automatically drop some position in the group.

As soon as he beat the Espírito Santo, Jan breathed a sigh of relief and was finally able to pursue his dream of trying to win an Ultimate belt. To do this, the athlete needs to continue winning and, in his opinion, playing against well-positioned opponents is the path to success in the division.

“I want someone at the top (for the next challenge). Maybe a title fight. Why not? I'm ready. Give me the fight. Give me the title shot, because I don't have much time. Maybe in three years I will be retired. It’s now or never”, said the Pole.

In February next year, Blachowicz will turn 37 years old. The athlete, who started as a professional in MMA in 2007, has 33 fights, 25 wins and eight losses. The fighter has two positive results in a row; in both he beat opponents who came up from the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg). His last defeat came in February this year, when he was severely knocked out by the Brazilian and former title challenger, Thiago Marreta.
