The heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg.), Stipe Miocic, gave a real cold shower to anyone who thinks that his next performance will be, with 100% certainty, in the rematch against Daniel Cormier, his last tormentor and opponent. The American admitted that he is interested in holding a super fight against the champion and boxing star, Tyson Fury, who recently said he will hold at least one mixed martial arts performance. Stipe's statement was made to 'ESPN'.

“I heard that Tyson Fury is coming to mixed martial arts. I like challenges,” said Miocic.

The news that reached the current UFC champion, however, is not just rumors. Fury, in a recent interview, confirmed that he has the desire to hold a fight in 2019 in MMA. The athlete was even seen in a training session with the current UFC middleweight, Darren till.

If the UFC is interested in holding a meeting between the giants, they must first resolve any issues with Daniel Cormier, who, close to retirement, stated that he will step into the octagon one last time to try to regain the belt he lost in August.

Ultimate's president, Dana White, has already confirmed on several occasions that a new confrontation between 'DC' and Stipe will, in fact, happen. However, the date and location have not yet been announced. The plans, however, do not seem to please the belt owner.

“With Daniel, it wasn’t me who took him down, it was me who defeated him. I knocked him out decisively. In the first fight, ‘DC’ caught me with a punch in the first round. But on Monday, I won. I was unlucky. At the moment, I don't really care about (facing Cormier). As Tyson Fury, yes”, concluded the champion.

It is worth remembering that, when beaten by Daniel, Miocic did not have his request for an immediate rematch granted. The athlete had to wait for DC to face Derrick Lewis, and was aware of an attempt to negotiate a super fight involving his rival and Brock Lesnar, which didn't end up happening. From then on, Stipe was once again placed as the protagonist of a title fight, just over a year after his loss.
