the meeting between Corey anderson e Johnny Walker in the last fight of the preliminary card of the UFC 244, this Saturday (2), in New York, was considered an important duel for the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg.). However, for the North American, winning was a matter of pride. After delivering a brutal knockout to the Brazilian in the first round, Corey appeared extremely angry and cheered exaggeratedly, for some people. After the attitude, Anderson made a point of apologizing to Walker in a post on his Twitter account.

“I want to apologize to the Johnny Walker, your fans, friends, family and my students for the way I behaved. This was not an action that represents me as a person. I was taught to be a good athlete. That's not my way. Emotions took over me”, wrote the fighter.

The set of actions took place after the event's major promotion of the new Brazilian favorite. Considered a favorite by many experts in the sport, Walker was a star in the making at the event, which visibly hurt the North American's pride.

During the week, Johnny had declared that he would 'take it easy' on his rival, in order to show his audience his weapons during three rounds of combat. The athlete had competed in three Ultimate fights and won them all in lightning time.

When he stepped into the octagon to face the Brazilian, Corey's motivation was at an all-time high. Right in the opening moments, the American made Walker feel the weight of his hand, which cornered the athlete and made Anderson go up and finish the feat.

After the referee's interruption and the knockout, Corey continued attacking his opponent, teasing and mocking his opponent's defeat. The North American needed to be restrained to reduce his actions.

PUBLICITY:

Visibly moved, Johnny just smiled, but didn't seem to be shaken by his opponent's provocations.

The duel marked Walker's first defeat for the UFC, while Corey placed himself on the front line, along with Dominick reyes, to face the unquestionable Jon Jones.
