Brazilian Luis Betão is in the final of the Bellator bantamweight GP. The RFT athlete faced Hiroshi Nakamura, this Friday (25), on the main card of Bellator 70 and was not aware of the Japanese athlete.
After a balanced first round, Betão took control of the fight and gave the challenger no chance. With well-aligned boxing and excellent takedown defense, the Brazilian scored points in the second round. In the last round, the RFT athlete landed a beautiful cross, which knocked Nakamura down. Without wasting time, the Tupiniquim athlete threw a few punches on the ground and won the contest by technical knockout.
With the victory, Betão guarantees a place in the final of the bantamweight GP and will face another Brazilian: Marcos “Loro” Galvão, who beat Travis Marx, at Bellator 68, to guarantee a place in the decision. The tournament winner will have the right to compete for the Bellator belt against another Brazilian: Dudu Dantas, current category champion at the event.
