Sam Alvey fails in training and is out of fight against Shogun at UFC São Paulo

North American would fight the co-main fight at the event in São Paulo on November 16; Brazilian waits for new opponent

A piece of news worried fans interested in attending Mauritius Shogun in another presentation in Brazil. Recently, the North American Sam alvey revealed that he broke his hand and ended up having to leave the card in which he would exchange forces with the Brazilian, in UFC Sao Paulo, on November 16th. The athlete used his Instagram account to confirm the injury, showing an x-ray, and apologize to the Curitiba native.

“I apologize to Mauritius Shogun and the UFC. I broke my hand and had to leave my fight on November 16th. It was an accident that occurred in training that took me out of combat. My plans and his are not always aligned, but his plans are always better,” wrote Alvey referring to God.

Even with the information, Maurício is still kept on the card. The board is now racing against time to find an opponent who accepts a challenge with just over two weeks notice and wants to exchange forces against one of the biggest representatives of the sport in Brazil.

If Shogun is kept on the card, this will be the Brazilian's sixth appearance in Brazilian territory in his last eight appearances. Shogun's presence on Brazilian cards has become a kind of tradition, as the fighter is known for being one of those responsible for raising the name of the sport worldwide.

Former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.), Maurício, today, is in 13th position in the category ranking. Shogun is trying, at 37 years old, to resume the phase of achievements in his career. The athlete went through difficult times in the organization, but seems to have found his way back to victory.

In total, the fighter has already had 34 fights, with 24 wins and 10 losses.
