Frank mir will be the first challenger to the Brazilian's belt junior gypsy. The duel, which takes place next Saturday (26), in the main fight of UFC 146, promises to be hot, mainly due to the North American's provocations.
Even considered an underdog in the bookmakers, Mir believes his record against striking athletes is largely favorable and makes a point of remembering his career as a professional athlete to show that he is capable of beating Cigano.
“I think people get a little lost in these analyses. They forget that I can usually beat fighters who only use punches as a weapon, guys who are purely striking players,” said Frank, in an interview with North American ESPN. “If you look at my performances against different types of fighters over 11 years in the UFC, and not just against one or the other, you can get a better idea of what my style is like, and how I can perform in a fight”, added the challenger.
