a wish to Conor McGregor it is no longer an order for the Ultimate board. After suggesting a return to MMA against Frankie Edgar, the Irishman had his request denied by the company president, Dana White. According to the boss, the difference in weight between the athletes is considerable, which makes it impossible for the combatants to meet. The statement was made in an interview with the 'Boston Herald' channel.

“The fight against Frankie Edgar will not happen. Frankie is two categories below. Edgar should face aljamain sterling, but Aljamain fell and got hurt”, said Dana.

White also stated that, under the current circumstances, a fight against Conor would not make sense for Frankie, who was recently defeated by Max Holloway in the fight for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg.). After the setback, the North American declared his decision to go down to bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) and try to become division champion.

“Frankie is coming to the end of his career and he could end it by putting himself in a position to fight for a belt again. So, him taking a fight against Conor doesn’t make any sense”, concluded the boss.

The North American had already declared that, for a fight against the 'Notório', he would postpone his change of category so that he could carry out his dream confrontation against the Irishman, who is famous for enriching his opponents through the big sales of his commitments.

In a recent statement, Conor, who is always mysterious about when he will fight again, openly said that he wanted to face the former lightweight champion (between 2010 and 2012). According to the Irishman, it would then be up to White to schedule the fight.

With the organization's denial, behind the scenes in MMA are back to square one when it comes to when and against whom McGregor's return to MMA will take place. The athlete has not competed in an official fight since he was beaten by Khabib Nurmagomedov, in October last year, at UFC 229, in a fight valid for the lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.).

The request for a fight against Edgar, according to Conor himself, made sense because, as the North American presents Wrestling as his main characteristic, he (McGregor) would be preparing for a future rematch against the Russian, his eternal rival.

With the matter closed, it now remains for Frankie and Conor to move forward with their careers and pursue their next goals to return to winning within the organization.
