In addition to the main fight, spectators will be able to watch the rematch between Yair Rodriguez e Jeremy Stephens, whose last fight was interrupted after a controversial medical interruption, when the American was accused of an illegal eye poke by the Mexican and was unable to return to the fight. The case happened in the opening seconds of the last fight of the UFC Mexico City, just under a month ago.

Weidman vs. Reyes

Chris is an old acquaintance of Brazilians. The athlete became known throughout the world after putting an end to the hegemony of Anderson Silva, one of the most dominant athletes in the history of mixed martial arts, in 2013. After beating the legend twice, the fighter also dispatched two other Brazilian references: Lyoto Machida e Vitor belfort.

Like it or not, Weidman actually made history in MMA. By beating 'Spider', the American moved the middleweight division so that, since Anderson lost his number one spot, seven different competitors have had the title to call their own.

The decision to move up a category came to try to avoid a bad phase experienced by the athlete within the company. After losing his title in 2015, in the defeat to Luke Rockhold, the North American suffered three defeats in his last four fights. His last triumph came in July 2017, when he defeated Kelvin Gastelum.

Chris arrives at welterweight with the intention of, according to the fighter himself, shocking the world for the second time. The combatant has declared his willingness to face Jon Jones, category champion. To do so, however, the North American must face a tough challenge: beating the undefeated Dominick reyes.

At just 29 years old, Dominick still doesn't have the experience of his opponent, but, with each fight, he has shown that he is an athlete capable of achieving great things in the sport. Reyes debuted in Ultimate in June 2017. In five appearances for the company, the fighter has already defeated famous opponents such as Jared Cannonier e Ovince St Preux.

In total, Dominick had 11 professional fights, winning six fights by knockout, two by submission and three by judges' decision. Against Weidman, the athlete will be able to prove that he is not just a promise in the category and, in case of victory, he can stamp his passport to face the feared Jon Jones.

Rdriguez vs. Stephens

What could have been just another fight between athletes fighting to get closer to the elite in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg), ended up taking on the air of a confrontation between great rivals. This is due to the fact that Yair Rodriguez e Jeremy Stephens having been protagonists of a curious and controversial episode.

On September 21, in the fur UFC Mexico City, the American, Jeremy, accepted the challenge of facing Rodriguez in his home country in the main fight. With provocations from both sides, the fight had an unusual ending. In the opening seconds, after a frank exchange of blows, Stephens scored an illegal blow to the eye from his opponent and was unable to return to action after a five-minute medical interruption.

The announcement of the end of the fight generated outrage, both from the public present and from Yair, who was unhappy with the result, even getting into a disagreement with the night's interviewer, Michael Bisping.

After the incident, at the hotel, the athletes met and almost came to blows. In the episode, the protagonists had to be separated by people who were there.

Almost a month later, the fighters will finally be able to achieve their dream settlement. Rodriguez, who is in seventh place in the ranking, wants to win to get into the top five and his rival, who is close behind in eighth, has the same objective. The meeting between the rivals will represent the co-main fight of the night.

The tireless and controversial Greg Hardy

No ufc boston, the heavy weight (up to 120,2kg.) will complete a great feat. The fighter will have his fourth fight in less than a year for Ultimate. Debuting in January, the former American football player, who was previously involved in a case of domestic violence, has been lining up victims and achieving devastating knockouts over his opponents.

In his first fight, the American ended up losing by disqualification, after an illegal knee, but he won in his other two fights with knockouts in the first round.

This Friday, the athlete will face Ben Sosoli, who makes his debut for the organization. With seven victories under his belt, the Australian's strong point is knockout power. There have been six so far.

The meeting between the giants, then, has a good chance of being concluded before the judges make a decision.
