the american Mike Perry appears to be recovered from the injury that shocked the world at UFC Uruguay. After facing the Brazilian Vincent Luque, the fighter left his nose disfigured after a knee to the face. Eager to return to action, Perry asked for a fight against the former welterweight champion (up to 77kg), who is coming off a defeat to Colby covington. The challenge was done behind the scenes at UFC Tampa, last Saturday (12).

“I wanted this fight three years ago, two and a half; something like. If Robbie Lawler If you do me the honor of signing your name to the contract, let’s do it,” Perry said.
Mike, who is famous for his race and aggressiveness inside the Octagon, needs to recover from the defeat he suffered against Luque if he really wants to enter the category's rankings. Before fighting at UFC Uruguay, the North American ended up entering the spotlight of the board after beating the Brazilian Alex Cowboy, earlier this year. The setback for Vicente, however, caused the fighter to return to the end of the line.
The name of a former champion, then, could be the kick needed to get Perry back into the game.
“Let’s put on a show. Let's come out on top. It won't be any of that Wrestling crap. I can mix it up a little with you. I can try to risk a fall, knock you down, punch you a little; make you disoriented, or I can keep you pressured in the Octagon”, Mike teased.
Lawler's loss to Covington not only put the loudmouth as a title challenger, Kamaru Usman, as it caused the former number one to fall to 13th position in the category's ranking. In the duel that took place in August, Robbie ended up completely dominated by his rival for five rounds and ended up suffering his third consecutive defeat.
Despite the good victory over Cowboy in April, Mike is not on a good run in his professional record. In his last six appearances, the athlete won only two commitments. Perry has performed on 18 occasions in his career, winning 13 and losing five.
