UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones He had a hard time late this Saturday morning. The young star was detained by New York State Police after crashing his car into a pole. The fighter was under the influence of alcohol.
The information was given by the American website TMZ. According to the report, Jones was involved in an accident around 5:00 am. His car, a new Bentley, was destroyed in the crash and was a total loss. Jones was in Broome County sheriff's custody until he was released by his mother a few hours later.
Jon Jones won Rashad evans in the main fight of UFC 145 in April. He will defend his belt for the fourth time in September, against the veteran Dan Henderson, at UFC 151.
