Former light heavyweight athlete (up to 93kg), Jimi Manuwa lavished his trust on the Brazilian Johnny Walker, who emerged as a great favorite in his former category. Retired since June, the American showed that he still observes what happens within the organization and stated that he believes in Walker's good performance against the sovereign Jon Jones in the future. With reservations, Manuwa praised the Belford-Roxense player in an interview with 'BJPenn.com.

"I think that Johnny Walker will promote the best duel of the life of Jon Jones. Jon uses his wingspan very well against almost all of his opponents. Most of the division is shorter than him, and he has problems with people who are the same height and explosive,” Jimi said.

The North American, however, said that, to make history and beat 'Bones', who has only one defeat in his career (by disqualification), the Brazilian will have to be impeccable in his takedown defense, as the champion uses a lot of his Fight on the ground against dangerous and aggressive opponents.

Se Johnny Walker Don't get put down, I think he wins Jon Jones. He is the person who can cause the most problems”, declared the former fighter.

Walker, who debuted for Ultimate in November last year, had three fights in four months for the company. In addition to showing himself active and willing to fulfill commitments, the fighter annihilated all his opponents in the organization, acting for less than three minutes, including the time he spent in the octagon. The achievements guaranteed Walker 10th place in the category ranking and the possibility of playing against well-ranked opponents.

On November 2nd, the athlete will make his fourth appearance for the organization, in a clash against Corey anderson, UFC 244. If he wins, the athlete will move even closer to the top of the category and it will be a matter of time before he finally enters the radar as a possible challenger for the belt that currently belongs to 'Bomes'.

The Brazilian has already reported in some interviews that he is ready to challenge what is considered, by many, the best MMA athlete of all time. At the UFC 237, in Rio de Janeiro, in May, the fighter, who was recovering from a shoulder injury, said he could be the man to make history.

“I'm ready to face Jon Jones. All I need is to get my shoulder back and get some decent training. But I'm ready. I have a lot of technique and experience for this. I don’t think he has anything that surprises me,” said the fighter at the time.

Walker, 27 years old, has a record of 20 fights, 17 wins and three losses in his career. The Brazilian has not lost since June 2016.
