After hitting Robert whittaker in the main fight of UFC 243, in Australia, valid for the unification of the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg.), the desire of many is to know who will exchange forces with the Nigerian in the future. Soon after delivering the brutal knockout that declared Robert's defeat, Israel climbed the railing and pointed at Borrachinha, one of the event's guests of honor to be present and witness the fight of one of his likely opponents. When he was interviewed, the Nigerian made a point of directing his words at his rival.

“Do you know who is next? I'm going to get an inflated animal. Paulo borrachinha, I'll end with you. He's talking a lot of nonsense. Believe me, I’m going to finish this guy off,” Israel said into the microphone.

At the press conference, Adesanya took the opportunity to mock the fact that the Brazilian had criticized the physical size of the Nigerian, whom he called a 'skinny clown'. In justification, Israel also remembered Anderson Silva, former champion of the category and idol of the new belt owner.

“(Anderson) Silva was one of the guys who changed my mentality. I had in mind that to be tough you had to look like Rambo. This is how we see it in movies and grow up watching it. Then he (Borrachinha) looks at me and says I'm a skinny clown, that I don't have any strength. I don't need strength. I have the precision”, said the Nigerian.

After beating Robert, it is likely that Israel will step away from the sport for a while. In the last 18 months, the fighter has fought six times and will probably only be seen in action next year. The fight against Paulo, then, will have to wait a while.

If the duel is, in fact, confirmed, the fight will represent the meeting of two undefeated athletes in their careers. Adesanya currently has 18 fights without defeat, while Borrachinha has already had 13 fights and has never suffered a setback.
