If there is a man who is promoting a fight between middleweights (up to 83,9kg), it is Paulo borrachinha. Since before securing himself as the next challenger for the category belt, after beating Yoel romero at UFC 241, the Minas Gerais native has been launching provocations at the interim champion, Israel adesanya, in order to try to ibope for a possible confrontation between them. This time, the Brazilian stated that the fight against Israel would bring the first death to his record. The statement was made in the early hours of Friday (4) on his Twitter account.

“Don’t forget, skinny: I’m rooting for your victory (Adesanya faces Robert whittaker this weekend, at UFC 243) and for you to be my next opponent. I will have my first death in my cartel”, wrote Paulo.

Borrachinha's words, on this occasion, were published in response to an interview given by the Nigerian to 'MMA Junke'. In it, the interim champion states that he remains focused on his next objective, which is to win Robert whittaker this Saturday and guarantee the unification of the middleweight title.

After reporting its priority, Israel was asked about its next step. Without hesitation, the Nigerian stated that everyone knows who his next opponent is, but he continued to provoke.

“You know who’s next. You know. He calls me a skinny clown, but look at him. He is nothing more than a big balloon in the shape of an animal,” Adesanya said.

With so many provocations, Paulo, after defeating Romero, was confirmed as guest of honor on this weekend's Australian card. The request came from the president of Ultmate himself, Dana White, who guaranteed the presence of the Minas Gerais native at the stadium where the show will take place.

If Israel and Borrachinha face each other for the division title, the fight will be worth much more than just the right to be called number one. The invincibility of both athletes will be put at stake.

Paulo, 28 years old, has an impeccable record since he debuted in MMA in 2012. With 13 fights under his belt, the Brazilian doesn't know what it's like to lose.

Adesanya, in turn, at 30 years old and having debuted in professional mixed martial arts also in 2012, has already performed on 17 occasions and has never felt the taste of a setback.
