The interim middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.), Israel adesanya, spoke again about a possible fight against the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.), Jon Jones. The Nigerian stated that the North American is a big name to beat and is making plans to hold a super fight against the athlete in 2021. “With the middleweight division, I ended up getting a little stuck. I like (Jared) Cannonier right now; There's Costa (Borrachinha), who I have to look after and a few others. I think it could happen in 2021 (the fight against Jon Jones). I’ll fight before then, probably,” Adesanya said.

The athlete, however, has been stating that he intends to take some time off after his clash this weekend, when he faces Robert whittaker in the fight to unify the middleweight title, in UFC 243. Israel carried out a great sequence of fights in less than two years.

“There were six fights in 18 months. Obviously I'm going to have a long break. It's more complicated (to rest) when you become a champion. There are many things that happen quickly. Let’s see what happens”, said the Nigerian.

Israel was also asked about the fact that many consider Jones the best MMA athlete of all time. For Adesanya, the athlete, despite his quality, is not the greatest of all, but he is a man to beat in sport.

“I wouldn't say he's the greatest of them all, but he's definitely a 'boss' in the game that I have to play against,” said the fighter.

The interim middleweight champion still chose the place where he dreams of holding his big fight.

“Raider Stadium', in Las Vegas (USA). That's where it's going to happen. I decided this in July, when I was in Vegas”, concluded the athlete.

While he continues to win, Adesanya has built big plans for his promising career, however, to continue dreaming, the athlete must face a great challenge this Saturday (5). The Nigerian will finally exchange forces with the linear middleweight champion in order to see who will own the absolute title in the category.
