New for some and not so much for others. Owner of a world-renowned aggressiveness in the world of fights, Wanderlei Silva is close to taking another step in his career. After making history working for PRIDE, UFC and, more recently, Bellator, the athlete will debut in 'Bare Knuckle', a type of boxing without gloves. The information was released by 'FANSIDED' and, later, by 'BJPenn.com'. The opponent and location of the duel have not yet been revealed.

Many people find it exaggerated that some athletes continue to perform after reaching a certain age. However, for others who are more avant-garde, it is a pleasure to be able to honor an athlete who helped build the history of martial arts in action after so many years of service.

At Bare Knuckle, Wanderlei, if he confirms his presence at the attraction, will be subjected to a situation he already had contact with in the 90s. The Curitiba native was an important figure in the promotion and growth of the IVC (International Vale Tudo Championship). In clashes, athletes were placed under extreme conditions of violence in which rules were practically non-existent.

At 43 years old, Wand, who never officially announced his retirement, currently shows on his social networks that he has maintained his physical shape. The athlete, who is a cycling enthusiast, today brings bike rides and physical exercise into his routine.

The last official commitment of the 'Crazy Dog' took place in September last year, when, together with Bellator, he reissued a fourth fight between him and the Quinton jackson, who, together with the Brazilian, was responsible for building one of the greatest rivalries in the history of MMA. Wanderlei ended up defeated, tying the result between the two at 2×2 (Silva won two fights in PRIDE; Rampage triumphed once for Ultimate and once for Bellator).

If the Curitiba native's history in recent years is considered, the numbers do not help the Brazilian. In his last 10 commitments, the athlete was defeated in six of them. However, the fighter enjoys prestige due to the fame built in the late 90s and early 2000s, when the fighter became considered one of the most feared men in the world.

In his MMA career, Wand has 49 fights, with 35 wins and 14 losses.
