In 2019, Ultimate brought its audience, until now, beautiful knockouts. However, one of them is special. In July this year, acting for the UFC 239, Jorge masvidal managed to record the fastest knockout in the history (5 seconds) of the organization. At the time, the athlete was holding a long-awaited meeting with Ben Askren, against whom the American had a rivalry during the promotion of the duel. With great repercussion, American Top Team, the gym that Jorge represents, decided to honor the moment by painting the image of the blow on the wall. The image was released on the academy's official Instagram account.

In addition to delivering a brutal knockout to his opponent, Masvidal put an end to Ben's unbeaten record, who was signed by the UFC from ONE FC as a promise to be one of the great candidates for the welterweight title (under 77kg).
When he beat Askren, Jorge's popularity jumped impressively. The triumph over his former rival led to the consideration of a battle against Conor McGregor or even speculation of a future duel against Kamaru Usman, current owner of the division belt.
After failing to confirm the duel against the Irishman or the Nigerien, Masvidal received compensation from Ultimate. The athlete is scheduled to star, alongside Nate diaz o UFC 244. For the event, the UFC hopes to achieve a good number of pay-per-view sales, as it is a confrontation between two top athletes in the organization.
Jorge and Nate's prestige is such that, in this edition, they chose to risk a numbered event without scheduling an official title fight. In fact, the company, influenced by the idea of the two athletes, decided to create a symbolic title of “Toughest Son of a Mother in the Game”. The belt will cost, according to Dana White, around US$50 (approximately R$200) and will be delivered by movie star Dwayne Johnson, aka 'The Rock'.
