At just 24 years old, the fighter from Vila Velha (ES) will compete in her 15th career fight. Karol, who debuted in MMA at the age of 17 and debuted in the UFC in August of this year, wants to continue winning for the company to continue his dream of one day competing for the bantamweight belt (up to 65,7 kg.) which today belongs to Amanda nunes.
Rosa doesn't know what it's like to lose since her negative result against Campinas Melissa Gatto, in a fight that took place in September last year, for NC (Nação Cyborg), an event produced by the former Ultimate champion, Chris Cyborg. On that occasion, the native of Espírito Santo ended up being submitted by her compatriot in the first round.
After the setback, Karol managed to recover and has won three in a row.
Rosa's opponent, Julia has less experience, at least on paper. The North American, however, has a record that shows just one defeat, which occurred in May last year, in a total of eight appearances. Avila, 31 years old, debuted in MMA in January 2012, however, he was out of action for more than four years, returning to the sport in 2016, when he beat compatriot Carolyn Biskup-Roe by knockout.
After returning to mixed martial arts, the North American held seven clashes, winning in six; the last one, representing his UFC debut, against Pannie kianzad, at UFC239, which took place in July this year.
The main fight of the event will be fought by the veteran, former middleweight (up to 83,9kg) and welterweight (up to 77kg) title challenger, Demian Maia, against Ben Askren, former ONE FC and Bellator champion.
