Ultimate's frustration at not being able to confirm the fight between Kamaru Usman e Colby covington is still a subject of discussion for MMA enthusiasts. “Colby can say what he wants, but we work on scheduling fights. That's what we do. We go after the athletes and say: 'This is the next appointment, this is the date. Do you want the fight? Obviously he wanted more money to face Usman. We go back and forth,” said the president.

Recently, Covington has criticized the way Ultimte negotiates its contracts. For the North American, he should be valued more for carrying out combat.

For the fight for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.) against the Nigerian, Colby stated that he rejected the commitment because the UFC had offered him a challenger scholarship. The leading role in the event, to be held in New York, will be Jorge masvidal e Nate diaz, who are seeking advancement so that in the future they can compete for the title in the same division as Colby.
