Earlier this week, an injury took Dominick Cruz of his third Ultimate belt defense against Urijah faber at UFC 148. But, on Tuesday night, UFC president, Dana White, confirmed that Faber remains in the fight program.
In an interview with the “UFC Tonight” program, shown on the North American channel Fuel TV, the manager stated that an interim title in the bantamweight division will be at stake. And, it seems, Urijah's possible opponent will be the Brazilian Renan Barao, who even with a fight scheduled against Ivan Menjivar at the same event, is considered for the dispute.
In addition to Barão, another name being considered for the interim belt fight is the young Michael McDonald, just 21 years old, who has won eight consecutive victories. “I'm looking for the right opponent, the guy who deserves this fight against Urijah faber,” White said during the interview.
