The moral of Conor McGregor is no longer the same as it used to be, at least for Tony Ferguson. Even though he is famous for being involved in fights with millionaires, a fight with the Irishman does not attract the North American's attention at the moment. For 'El Cucuy', his focus now is to fight for the category belt and not 'tow' athletes, in his own words. The statement was made in a recent interview with 'Ariel Helwani's MMA Show'.

“First of all, I’m not a tow truck for anyone. I have 12 fight wins. Fuck that. The subject has already come up once, I was kind of interested, but at the end of the day, I'm not here to tow it away. I have a belt (I had an interim title). I won 12 times in a row. The next fight I have is for the belt”, said Ferguson.
While Conor remains outside the octagon, waiting for a great opponent, Tony made his return to MMA after resolving physical and personal problems. The American won the right to become the next lightweight title challenger when he beat his compatriot Donald Cerrone in an exciting combat in the UFC 238, in June. Ferguson will face the winner between Khabib and Poirier, who meet this Saturday (7), at UFC 242.
The triumph not only gave 'El Cucuy' the chance to seek the absolute title of the category, but also increased the number of consecutive victories to 12. His last triumph was last year, when he defeated the former number one in the division, Anthony Pettis.
The athlete also took the opportunity to criticize the Irishman's inactivity, who remains in third place in the category ranking, but, however, does not perform official fights frequently.
“In the beginning, he was there, trying for the belt, but once he became irrelevant, I stopped caring about that guy. Now, is he mentioning my name? Get out”, commented the fighter.
McGregor hasn't fought since being defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in the lightweight title fight in October last year. Before that, the fighter had been away from MMA for almost two years.
