“I was waiting for a moment of tranquility to write to you. I want to thank all the true fans and friends for all the support! I am not sad. we did everything right. I was very well trained and focused. This was one of the fights I was best prepared for”, wrote Jéssica.
The former strawweight champion took the opportunity to analyze the moment in the fight when she realized her disadvantage. According to the fighter, the opponent's blows had an effect on the first contact and, although the Brazilian tried to recover, the Chinese's pressure was superior and prevented Andrade from moving away.
“Unfortunately, Zhang's hand came in first and I fell. Then came a sequence of elbows in which I blacked out and tried to recover; but soon came a knee, and then it was impossible to continue”, said Bate-Estaca.
The defeat did not make the Paraná native lower her head. Quite the opposite. The fighter now seeks strength in examples from the sport itself to be able to get back on her feet and seek a new chance to regain her title in the future.
“I don't feel ashamed, because this happens to all fighters one day. It has already happened with (José) Aldo, with Joanna (Jedrzejczyk), with (Cris) Cyborg, with Anderson Silva with Junior Gypsy”, explained the Brazilian.
Jéssica also left a message for those who are criticizing her performance in combat. According to Bate-Estaca, several messages contesting her performance have appeared on her social networks. The athlete then tried to target these people.
“I just want to leave this message to the critics: 'no one trains and enters the octagon to lose'. But the profession I chose has these things, doesn't it?
The fighter, however, stated that she intends to take some time off, as she has been training hard over the last eight months. For now, Ultimate has not signaled what the now champion's next challenge should be. Weili Zhang.
