There were no scares at the official weigh-in for UFC Montevideo, which takes place this Saturday (10). This Friday morning (9), the 26 athletes who will face each other in the first event held in Uruguay, passed the scale challenge and guaranteed their presence on the Latin card. Between them, Valentina Shevchenko and Liz Carmouche fulfilled their commitment to the scales and were present in the main fight of the night, valid for the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg.). The 11 Brazilians present at the event also confirmed their weights were within the limits.

Valentina Shevchenko He weighed in calmly and weighed 56,5kg, around 200g below the limit for his category. The athlete will defend her second flyweight belt, since she won the vacant title by beating the former strawweight number one, Joanna Jedrzejczyk in a duel that took place in December last year. The athlete put her position at risk for the first time when she defeated the North American, Jessica Eye, after a beautiful kick to the head, leading the opponent to an immediate knockout. The duel represented one of the fights of the UFC 238.
Carmouche was also efficient in his weight cutting plan. The North American, who was once a challenger for the bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg), when the category was still reigned by Ronda Rousey, stepped on the scale and cracked (56,7kg.). In addition to the fight for the belt, the fight will mark the athletes' reunion in a duel after 10 years. The first time they shared a fighting platform, Liz got the better of the Kyrgyzstani.
Brazilians confirmed
Of the 26 fights confirmed for this weekend, 10 will have Brazilian representatives. With seven performances on the preliminary card, Polyana viana (57,2kg), Alex Leko (70,5kg.), Geraldo de Freitas, Raulian paiva (56,9kg), Rogerio Bontorin (56,9kg), Marina Rodriguez (52,4kg), Gilbert Durinho (77,6kg) and Raphael Bebezão (118,4kg) did not disappoint and stayed within the limits of their categories.
In the main, three athletes from Brazil also fulfilled their obligations and will be responsible for entertaining the public in the final stretch of the event. The newcomer, Rudolph Vieira, a little shy, made his first weigh-in for Ultimate weighing in at 84,1kg. Luiz Eduardo Garagorri weighed 66kg and Vincent Luque, who is in the co-main duel, secured 77,6kg.
