Six months after his debut for Ultimate, Raulian paiva will have his second fight for the organization. The flyweight (up to 56,2kg.), who was defeated in his debut to Kai Kara France, at UFC 234, will have the chance to redeem himself and win his first victory since signing a contract with the company. Paiva showed confidence to face his compatriot Rogerio Bontorin in the fourth fight of the UFC Montevideo preliminary card, this Saturday (10). In an interview with 'Combate', Raulian spoke about his challenge this weekend.

“(Rogério) Bontorin is that athlete who cannot be said: 'that athlete is very dangerous'. He's good, he has the merit of being in the UFC, but I don't see many weapons for him to beat me. I am a complete athlete. Bontorin really likes jiu-jitsu and, if he wants to do it, let's do it. I confess that there is no area that scares me. If his jiu-jitsu is good or not, if his boxing is good or not, if he has a black belt in jiu-jitsu, that doesn't scare me. I’m well prepared and focused,” said the flyweight.

Paiva stated that, after his defeat, which occurred in February, he sought help abroad to improve some techniques and try to improve his game for future fights. The Amapá man said he was invited by Urijah faber to make up the group of athletes who were preparing for UFC Sacramento, which took place in July. Raulian stated that the period in the United States helped a lot with his game plan.

“It was a very good camp, very tough, especially because I prepared with the guys who fought at UFC Sacramento and other UFCs, too. I improved my game in everything I know, in jiu-jitsu, in wrestling, in kickboxing. Everything I needed to adjust, I adjusted during these four months.

One of the obstacles encountered during his preparation was the difficulty in adapting to another country. Raulian doesn't speak English, but assured that he is working to learn it as quickly as possible.

“At first, it was a little complicated, due to the culture there (USA) being different from my state (Amapá). The language too. I didn't speak any English, but I'm still learning. Little by little, I gained my space, making friends. I got used to America and I'm going to have to get used to Brazil again”, said the fighter.

In his professional record, Paiva, 23 years old, has 20 fights. In his previous commitments, the fighter won 18 victories and two defeats.

His opponent, Rogério, 27, currently has 15 wins and one loss in his career. Like his opponent, the fighter will make his second appearance for the UFC. However, Bontorin won on his debut, which took place in February of that year.
