UFC 149 will put two of the most aggressive Brazilians in the UFC light heavyweight category face to face. Former teammates Mauricio Shogun e Thiago Silva measure forces at the event scheduled to take place on July 21st, in Calgary, Canada.
The confirmation of the fight was made by Dana White, president of the organization, through his Twitter account during a conversation with a fan.
Shogun and Thiago were teammates at Chute Boxe and their main characteristic is their aggressive style when exchanging blows. But the similarities between the Brazilians don't stop there: Both athletes are coming off defeats in their last appearances in the organization. Shogun was surpassed by Dan Henderson, in a spectacular fight, at UFC 139, in November 2011. Thiago, who returned from a doping suspension, lost to the Swede Alexander Gustafson at UFC on Fuel 2, held in April.
