the charismatic Francisco Massaranduba doesn't hide his joy at being back in the octagon. Without acting since September last year, when he defeated the North American Evan dunham, the athlete was motivated for his fight against Alexander Hernandez this Saturday (20), at UFC San Antônio, in the United States. The Brazilian's opponent is currently in 13th place in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3kg). In his last commitment, the athlete was surpassed by Donald Cerrone in a fight interrupted after the fighter suffered a technical knockout in the second round, in January of this year.
Despite being younger than massaranduba, Hernandez is one of the most important opponents Francisco has fought against in his UFC career. 14 years younger, the North American has already shown himself to be a great athlete, who came to the company to fight for great achievements. The athlete's qualities, however, seem to motivate the Brazilian even more.
“Every day I'm on the mat to learn, and I'm definitely going with everything. I'm feeling well. I'm very happy, that's what matters. You enter the octagon very happy. I feel like fighting. I want to go out on a limb with this kid, I want to show the crowd that I'm capable of beating anyone. My greatest happiness is because I spent a long time without fighting, and I am huge”, said Francisco.
massaranduba will turn 41 next month. Despite his vast experience, in the same interview the warrior admitted that he still can't imagine hanging up his gloves. In the athlete's mind, there are still more stages to go through within the sport.
“I’m not old enough to stop. Only God knows what he has for me, I don't think about stopping. Let’s move the boat, as long as I can row, I’ll row”, he concluded. massaranduba.
Throughout his career, Francisco played 29 times, winning 23 and losing six matches.
