Aspen, however, emphasized that her focus is always on her current opponent. The American commented that she is in no rush to receive the opportunity to fight for the belt. The opponent that matters most at the moment is the one who will be in front of her in her next challenge.

“I feel the same about any fight. They are always the most dangerous opponents. I get the same excitement for every fight. It doesn't matter if it's Germaine, Holly (Holm), Amanda (Nunes). I’m excited for every fight,” said Ladd.

This Saturday, Aspen will face the number one athlete in the bantamweight rankings. The 35-year-old Dutchwoman was the first UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) after defeating Holly holm in the division's inaugural duel. Randamie, however, had her title stripped after the athlete refused to defend her belt against the Brazilian Chris Cyborg. Ladd also spoke about her opponent this weekend.

“She’s the number one contender for a reason. She is a former champion for a reason. She is a great stand-up fighter. One of the best in the UFC. She is very experienced,” praised Aspen.
