Brazilian John Lineker was unemployed for a short time. Just five days after terminating his contract with the UFC, the man from Paraná signed a deal with ONE FC, the main Asian event. It follows the same steps as Vitor belfort, Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvez, who left Ultimate and settled with the show.

Through a post on Twitter, Lineker said that he agreed with the new organization: “I will answer all questions about myself in the ring. People will change the channel to watch me fight. I will continue doing what I love! Fight and put on a show. Thank you for supporting me”, wrote the fighter, marking the profile of businessman Alex Davis, and ONE FC.

If he succeeds in the ONE bantamweight division, Lineker could get a 100% Brazilian title fight. This is because the current owner of the title is Manauara Bibiano Fernandes, who more than once refused to sign with the UFC to stay on the Asian show.

John LIneker x UFC

The relationship between John Lineker and UFC had been fraying recently. The Brazilian complained about the lack of fights in the organization and even asked to be released from his contract. The complaint yielded results and he was selected for the second most important fight at UFC Greenville, at the end of June. However, in the week of the attraction, he cut his eyebrow and forced the postponement of the duel against Rob font. The situation angered the organization, which decided to release Lineker from his bond.
