The biggest MMA event in Serbia, the Serbian Battle Championship (SBC) has served as a showcase for its champions to reach major MMA events around the world. It was like this with the Brazilian Luis Rafael “Japa”, who after winning the title signed with the PFL (Professional Fighters League), and with the organization's former welterweight champion Stefan Sekulic, who signed with the UFC. Given this scenario, Gian Siqueira, from Santa Catarina, knows that winning the event belt will bring him even closer to a great organization. And he will have the chance to win the title this Saturday (6), in an event to be held in Serbia. Gian will face compatriot Eri Silveira in a fight valid for the SBC welterweight belt.

“I see this fight as my ticket to the UFC. The belt is vacant because the former division champion signed with the UFC. It's definitely the most important fight of my career because I know the chances of finishing with an event like Ultimate if I win the title. Therefore, I will not let anyone end this dream. The expectations are very high, I am very well prepared and I have no doubts about my victory”, said Gian.

Gian's last fight was in May for SBC, when he submitted Nebojsa Mrsic with a rear naked choke in the first round. With a record of 17 wins and just four losses, the 25-year-old athlete will face Eri Silveira, from Rio Grande do Sul, who is undefeated in MMA after eight fights. Focused on winning the belt from this fight, Gian has been in Serbia for two weeks training at the Family Fight Team gym, in the city of Novi Sad.

“My last fight was quick and I didn’t have any injuries. So, I continued training because I knew I would paint something good for myself. I arrived here in Serbia earlier because the owner of the event brought me earlier to train with his team, which has several high-level names in MMA. Former UFC and current PFL fighter Bojan Velickovic, the Stefan Sekulic, who is a former champion of the category in which I will compete for the title and is currently in the UFC, among other big names in Serbian MMA. I will arrive very well prepared for this fight. I know my opponent is undefeated, but he has never fought someone as complete as me. I am sharp in all areas and wherever the fight takes place, he will be in danger”, concluded Gian.
