One of the greatest MMA athletes in history, Jon Jones, offered his help in the preparation of the linear middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.), Robert whittaker, in his duel against the holder of the linear belt, Israel adesanya. In a recent interview to promote the UFC 239, Jones showed respect to Robert and made himself available to the athlete to assist in his training for the fight that will take place at the end of the year.

The duel between Whittaker and Adesanya will mark one of the biggest meetings this year. In it, the athletes will carry out the clash that will confirm after its end the holder of the category's absolute title. Currently, Robert is the linear champion, while Israel adesanya holds the interim belt. The Nigerian managed to place himself as number one after defeating the North American Kelvin Gastelum in April, at UFC 236.
To prepare, Whittaker received some serious help. Jon Jones recently announced his desire to be present at Robert's training sessions in order to help prepare the Australian for the clash against the Nigerian. On that occasion, 'Bones' praised the linear champion, who promptly responded to the North American.
“I have so much respect for you,” Whittaker wrote on Instagram.
After the comment, Jones also made a point of showing his admiration for Robert, to whom he sent another message.
“Just keep yourself well. I would be honored to help you prepare for your fight. We will leave you more than prepared”, published Jones.
Despite his undisputed ability as a fighter, Robert will have another opponent in front of him besides Adesanya. The Australian hasn't entered an octagon since June last year, more than a year ago. In recent months, the athlete has suffered a series of serious injuries that prevented him from remaining active within the organization. Therefore, the middleweight will have to prepare a lot to be able to face, on equal terms, an opponent who has had several fights in the last two years.
The clash between Whittkaker and Adesanya is being negotiated to take place on October 6th and could mark the main fight of the UFC 243, in Melbourne, Australia.
