Ariane Lipski is dominated by Molly McCann and loses second UFC fight

Ainda não foi dessa vez que a brasileira Ariane Lipski teve o braço erguido no Ultimate. A ‘Rainha da Violência’, como é conhecida, subiu no octógono pela segunda vez, mas acabou superada pela britânica Molly McCann in the unanimous decision of the judges (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). The clash was an attraction on the UFC Greenville preliminary card, held this Saturday (22), in South Carolina (USA).

With the result, Ariane recorded her fifth defeat as a professional – the second in the UFC. She also has 11 triumphs. On the other hand, McCann scores the second consecutive victory against a Brazilian. She had already hit Priscila Pedrita, in March. The Englishwoman has a record of 9 wins and two losses.

The fight

Taller than her rival, Ariane controlled the distance at the beginning of the fight. However, McCann, little by little, took control of the duel. Even with a disadvantage in terms of wingspan, the Englishwoman closed the distance well, with a lot of movement, and hitting the Brazilian in the face. In the final seconds, she still managed a takedown and ended the partial on top.

The Brazilian tried to overcome the disadvantage in the second round. She walked forward, but lacked precision in her attacks. In contrast, McCann connected his inputs. A high kick from the Brazilian entered the Englishwoman's head, but the counterattack took the Brazilian to the ground. McCann repeated the fall in the final seconds and ended up on top, already in mount.

At a disadvantage on the judges' scorecards, Ariane tried to make up the difference in the third round. The Brazilian even connected with good blows and opened a cut on McCann's face. However, the Englishwoman responded to the Brazilian's attacks with good counterattacks. She abused her movement to thwart Lipski's attacks and secured the victory at the hands of the judges.

Little jar does damage in 9 seconds

In another highlight of the preliminary card, the Surinamese Jairzinho Rozenstruik – named after the former Brazilian football player – achieved a brutal knockout in just nine seconds. In the first moves of the fight against Allen Crowder, the North American tried to shorten the fight but received a jab and fell. Afterwards, with another blow from above, Jairzinho achieved victory.

The quick result marked the second-fastest UFC heavyweight knockout. It was two seconds shy of Todd Duffee's triumph over Tim Hague in 2009 at UFC 102.
