Ronny Markes returns to training after surgery

Brazilian Ronny Markes went through a difficult month in his career. After achieving his second victory in the UFC, against Aaron Simpson, in February, the Brazilian athlete suffered a broken hand and was forced to undergo surgery. Still without his return to the UFC octagon confirmed, but scheduled for August, the native of Rio Grande do Norte says he is happy to finally be free to do what he loves most: fight.

“No athlete likes to get hurt, but we know that’s part of it. Thank God, now I'm back and I'm going to work hard to get ready as soon as possible. I know that the UFC will schedule my fight soon, so I can't waste time”, said the fighter;

This week, with the strength in his hand having recovered and after being released by the physiotherapist, he was able to return to jiu jitsu training. “I had already returned to boxing and muay thai, doing the movements I could to not harm myself again. Now, finally, I am free to do a heavier load of training”, said Ronnys.

Still not knowing who he will fight against, but believing that his return to the UFC should happen in August, Ronny Markes welcomes the moment of growth that the sport is experiencing. “It's excellent to see this popularization of MMA, because it's a sport that really takes many young people off the streets and off drugs. Before, if it was seen as something brawling, now it is demonstrated with all the professionalism and dedication it requires”, said Ronny Markes.
