The manager of the former strawweight champion (up to 52,1kg.), Rose namajunas, Brian Butler, informed that his client must once again face her latest tormentor, the Brazilian Jessica Andrade. After the North American stated that she did not want a rematch against the current belt holder, Butler revealed, in a recent interview with the 'MMA Fighting' website, that the athlete should challenge 'Bate-Estaca' at the end of the year. Rose is recovering from a neck injury.

“Rose is definitely interested in a rematch. Her intention is to fight until the end of the year. The UFC was interested in a rematch, but she didn't have enough time to fight. She has to discuss the date”, declared the businessman.

After her defeat to Jéssica, in UFC 237, held in Rio de Janeiro, in May, the former champion stated that she intended to step away from MMA for a while, and did not rule out an early retirement. The athlete's idea, however, seems to have changed. However, according to Brian, Rose needs to recover from a neck injury that, according to him, has been bothering the fighter since before the fight against Andrade.

“She (Namajunas) had a neck injury before the fight and she only wants to fight again when she is 100%. Rose will decide when she will return,” Butler said.

Namajunas debuted in MMA in 2013. Her first commitment to the UFC came two years later, in 2015. On that occasion, the athlete faced her compatriot, Angela Hill and came out victorious with a beautiful finish. After five clashes, the American received a chance to face the controversial Joanna jędrzejczyk, who had already defended his belt six times.

Seen as an 'underdog', Rose managed to shock the world by defeating the Polish woman by knockout in the first round. In her speech after her triumph, the fighter showed a lot of humility and won the sympathy of many MMA enthusiasts.

At 26 years old, Namajunas has 11 fights in his professional record, with eight wins and three losses.
