Without giving soup to bad luck, Valentina Shevchenko defended the UFC women's flyweight belt for the first time. The Kyrgyzstani based in Peru entered the Octagon as a clear favorite to face the North American Jessica Eye and confirmed the expectation. After dominating her rival on the ground in the first round, she achieved a brutal knockout with a high kick at the beginning of the second round. The duel was an attraction in UFC 238, held this Saturday (08), in Chicago (USA).

With the result, Valentina reached her 17th victory as a professional – she also has three defeats – and establishes herself as the main athlete in the up to 57.1 kg category. On the other hand, Eye recorded his 7th defeat in 21 fights as a professional
The fight
Jéssica started the duel by going after Valentina, who soon delivered a good kick to her opponent's waistline. After the action, Shevchenko managed to take the fight to the ground and work on top, seeking a submission over the American. Extremely dominant on the ground, Jéssica didn't show much of a reaction against the champion. However, she managed to defend Valentina's submission attempts well. The fight continued to be fought on the ground and only presented danger at the end of the stage, but there was no more time.
Soon after returning, Shevchenko once again risked two kicks to her opponent's waistline. At one point, Valentina connected with a beautiful kick that went into her opponent's head, which knocked it out. Jessica Eye instantly.
